Cape Town - The monarchy have always been a picture of stoicism and family values, with rules and protocol guiding their every move.
But it seems even the royals from Buckingham Palace have their fair share of drama – even where family weddings are concerned.
With Princess Eugenie’s wedding just around the corner and more details emerging about the event, it’s been revealed that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall (71), won’t be in attendance because of a prior engagement, reports Harper’s Bazaar.

According to The Mirror, Camilla is scheduled to attend a school harvest festival near her home in Scotland on 12 October – the same day as Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank (32), with whom she’s been in a relationship for about eight years, reports Town and Country.
"We met when I was 20 and Jack was 24, and fell in love," Eugenie said in the couple’s first interview with the BBC.
According to a tweet by royal commentator Victoria Arbiter, royals often miss family occasions for scheduled events and no malice was intended.
“I know it seems odd that Camilla's missing Eugenie's wedding but it doesn't indicate any malice or ill-feeling. Royals don't like to disappoint. Given she'd already committed to attending a school event, it's duty first,” she wrote.

Prince Charles (69) will be present at the wedding without his wife, and with 850 guests expected to attend, the event will be even bigger than the wedding of Harry (34) and Meghan (37) in May, writes the Express.
Princess Eugenie (28) is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew (58) and Sarah Ferguson (58), the Duke and Duchess of York, and ninth in line to the throne.
