Cape Town – In an interview with Glamour UK, Victoria Beckham praised Meghan Markle, as she spoke of her unwavering belief that women should be embracing, lifting and supporting one another.
"I have always been about embracing who you are, supporting others, not being judgemental, treating others how you want to be treated," she explained. "Sometimes it's just the fundamental basics."
"Women supporting women is key. I liked what Meghan Markle said at the [British] Fashion Awards, that it used to be cool to be cruel, and now it's cool to be kind. Kindness was always at the core of Girl Power," the fashion designer said.
Meghan may have been talking about fashion when she gave the impassioned speech in December, but her words have been echoed time and time again ever since – with some even using it to defend the duchess. When Meghan and Harry came under fire with the private jet scandal not too long ago, Pink urged the public to leave the couple alone, reminding people to "be a bit kinder".
"Let's show our children that it's cool to be kind," she tweeted.
And today, the Duke and Duchess did the same with their latest Instagram post, sharing a quote by the Dalai Lama that speaks about having compassion:
"I believe that at every level of society – familial, tribal, national and international – the key to a happier and more successful world is the growth of compassion."
