Cape Town – It was another sunny day in Cape Town on Wednesday when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his wife Leah at one of Cape Town's oldest buildings and a national landmark, The Old Granary.

Founded in Cape Town in 2013, the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy contributes to the development of youth and leadership, facilitating discussions about social justice while making the lessons of the Archbishop Tutu accessible to generations to come.
The meeting also marked baby Archie's first official royal engagement.

The Duke and Duchess sat down and had a heart-to-heart with Archbishop Tutu. They spoke about tough love and raising the littlest royal in the public eye, even though they try to give him as private a life as possible.
"You know me," Prince Harry said to the Archbishop, as if they've known each other froever. "[There's a] responsibilty that we all have in trying to make their lives better, however we can," he said, while Archie played on his mom's lap.
While this is Duchess Meghan's first trip to South Africa, Prince Harry previously met with Archbishop Tutu in 2015 when His Royal Highness presented him with the Insignia of The Order of the Companions of Honour on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, recognising his services to UK communities and International Peace and Reconciliation.
On receiving the Honour, Archbishop Tutu referred to those who fought with him during the apartheid struggle and said, "I have been very deeply touched. When you stand out in a crowd, it's only because you are carried on the shoulders of others. Without them, I would be nothing. This is their award as much as it is mine."
