Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back in the UK to wrap up their final engagements.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will officially step down as senior members of the royal family on 31 March, but not before championing a few causes that are especially close to their hearts.
While Archie remained in Canada, Meghan joined Harry on Thursday night in London to attend the Endeavour Awards. The annual ceremony celebrates the achievements of veterans who’ve been injured in service and taken part in remarkable sporting and adventure challenges over the last year.
Both Harry and Meghan took the stage and presented on the evening. Prince Harry even spoke candidly about the support he’s received from his fellow veterans, even after news that, not only will the duke and duchess lose their HRH titles and sovereign funds, Harry’s official military appointments will not be used.
"I feel incredibly lucky to be able to count myself as one of you, and I’m deeply proud to have served among you as Captain Wales," Harry said, according to People. "A lot of you tonight have told me you have my back. Well, I’m also here to tell you, I’ve always got yours."
While it was a truly inspiring evening for all in attendance, Harry and Meghan were also witness to a very special moment between veteran Danny Holland and his girlfriend, reports E! News.
Danny called her up to the stage and got down on one knee in front of everyone – including a happy Harry and a moved Meghan.
Meghan placed her hand on Harry’s knee, unable to contain her excitement for the soon-to-be-married couple.
Harry smiled and turned to Meghan, who had her hands placed on her chest.
Moments later, Danny hugged his girlfriend as she said yes.
