Hollywood heavyweights Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howard are starring in SA director Darrell Roodt's 2011 film, Winnie. The movie is based on the life and struggles of the second Mrs Nelson Mandela. Here's the first image from the film.

There was much boo-ha last year when it was announced that the Oscar- and Grammy-winning diva would play Winnie Mandela. Why not get a South African actress? Well simply because more people would pay to see an American actress, really. It's sad, but true.

We put together a list of South African actresses who could have easily replace Jennifer as Winnie Mandela. Who would you choose?

Terrence Howard will follow in the big footsteps of Sidney Poitier, Danny Glover and Morgan Freeman as he portrays Nelson Mandela in the film.

Do you think they look the part? We think it's a bit of a stretch, but the proof is in the accents. We can't wait to see if Darrell can pull this one off.
