Should Gareth's show be Cliffed?
The first episode of The Gareth Cliff Show aired on Wednesday evening, and to my utter surprise, it wasn't a complete disaster. However, Gareth was visibly nervous and a little over-eager to control the conversation between his 'panelists'.

Comedian Trevor Noah, first daughter Dudu Zuma and pop star Kurt Darren joined Gareth on stage to talk about heritage. A little clichéd, but hey, a safe footing to start on nonetheless. Trevor stole the show with his biting wit and genuine laugh, while Gareth kept on interrupting poor Kurt Darren. I have to say that the guests were more entertaining than the host. And that's not going to bode well for the show's longevity...

The fact is, Gareth is a lot funnier than this show.  His soppy soliloquy to Heritage Day to round off the show was a lame attempt at nation-building, and just sooo not him. If they continue to invite quality, funny guests, then maybe The Gareth Cliff Show can work. We'll have to wait and see.
Tell us what you thought of Gareth's first show.

CSI: Celebrity Sympathy Insert
We love seeing celeb cameos on our favourite TV shows, but you've still got to make it believable! Thursday night's episode of CSI: NY on M-Net starred Ashlee Simpson and her husband Pete Wentz as a dumb-ass couple trying to flog a bag of heroin. Okay, so maybe it was very believable after all! Jokes... However, their few lines came across as robotic and ill-timed. Urgh – Gary Sinise is going to bring his credibility home in a body bag if these are the kind of cameos we can expect.

Vanilla Ice gets Scar-red
Rumour has it that has-been rapper Vanilla Ice has been spotted around Cape Town lately. Apparently the cool dude went to local hair salon Scar – to cut his own hair! Eish... talk about cutting it fine for some attention.

Baby Grey
It's baby season in Hollywood! Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has given birth to a daughter. Little Stella Luna was born on the 15th of September, so they've been keeping mum this past week. Haha, mum... geddit?
Congrats to more proud parents and another relatively normal name.
