Weekend weddings

So, a country singer, a hockey player and a few actors walk into a wedding chapel...

That's how this weekend started in Hollywood. Three celebrity weddings and there was no Paris, Kim or Lindsay in sight. A blessing from above, I tell you.

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher

The country singer and her hockey player lover got engaged in December and made their matrimony holy this Saturday,  July 10. Only a few people attended - about 250 we hear. The happy day took place at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia. It was a real Southern affair.

Carrie and her bridesmaids wore Monique Lhuillier dresses and Carrie wrapped herself in chantilly lace. How virginal.

The 27-year-old singer and her new hub are off to Tahiti and Bora Bora for their honeymoon. A little predictable, but we hope it's a blast anyway.

Martin Lawrence and Shamicka Gibbs

Taking things down a notch or five, the Death At A Funeral comedian and long-time lover tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at their home this past weekend. Martin and Schamika have been together for 14 years; it's about time he took Beyoncé's advice and put a ring on it!

Their two daughters, Amara (9) and Iyana (7) were the bridesmaids along with their half-sister Jasmine (14), Martin's daughter from a previous marriage.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski

From the office to Italy! It seems like it's a good weekend for the funny guys. Actress Emily Blunt and The Office comedian John Krasinski got married in a dreamy outdoor ceremony at the Villa D'este in Como, Italy on Saturday. They've been bunking at pal George Clooney's pad nearby, and the good weather must have prompted their sudden nuptials.

How long will these celeb marriages last? First we open the champagne, then we open the bets.
