Keeping with the theme is Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut starring Saoirse Ronan as a 17-year-old Lady Bird coming into her own.
Also to see Frances McDormand’s award-winning portrayal of a mother who rents three billboards to call attention to her daughter's unsolved murder.
Best Animated Feature nominee Loving Vincent is a first of its kind. This feature-length painted animation explores the life and unusual death of Vincent Van Gogh via depictions of his artworks.
And last but not least Ethan Hawke can be seen running around in the streets of Cape Town in the action film 24 Hours to Live.

Movie: Call Me By Your Name

Movie: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Our rating: 4/5
Short review: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is a masterclass in acting from Frances McDormand, with incredible support from Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson.
Movie: Lady Bird
Our rating: 4/5
Short review: Lady Bird is a love letter to uncertainty - both raw and comforting, it shows the ups and downs of a time that is so unsure.
Movie: Loving Vincent
Our rating: 3/5
Short review: The world's first fully oil painted feature feature film is love letter to art and the artist, Vincent van Gogh.
Movie: 24 Hours to Live
Rating: 2/5
Short review: The storyline is pretty average and the flick is probably more straight-to-DVD vibes, but it was still fun to watch Ethan Hawke running around the Waterfront trying to catch the bad guys.
