5 movies you should force your boyfriend to watch forever

Cape Town - Say what you want, but the romcom genre has some classic movies. You know what we mean, those movies you secretly watch over and over when you see it playing on TV.

Romantic comedies give you that warm fuzzy, hearts circling around your head feeling. Everyone loves a happy ending and romcoms are the perfect pick-me-up when you’re feeling down.

Here are 5 movies that we will never get tired of watching.

1) Miss Congeniality
Two words: Sandra Bullock. Anyone who is a huge Sandy fan loves this movie. It’s the classic tale of an ugly duckling who transforms into a swan. She is not only beautiful but she has brains and she’s brave. She ends up saving the day and also gets the guy and does it all in heels.

2)  10 things I Hate about You
Anyone else watch this movie so many times that you mouth the words to the poem at the end of the movie? This is one of the best teen romantic comedies of the 90s. The story of a  bad boy meeting a tough girl. It’s sappy and predictable but who cares. Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles had such amazing chemistry you couldn’t help but root for them getting together.

3)  How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey go head to head in this tale of the battle between the sexes. This movie taught women everywhere what not to do if you’re trying to keep a guy. Never, never name his manhood ‘Princess Sophia’. It also gives some insight on the male perspective of dating and relationships. They start off as an unlikely match who end up being perfect for each other.

4)  My Best Friend’s Wedding
The story of a woman who goes after someone else’s man and fails. Being just friends with someone isn't so bad after all. Julia Roberts is at her finest in this movie. The highlight of this movie is without a doubt the group sing along.

5)   Dirty Dancing

No list would be complete without the iconic Dirty Dancing. The coming of age story of a straight-laced girl who meets a guy from the wrong side of the tracks. Everybody now,  "nobody puts baby in the corner!"
