Cape Town – There’s a bunch of A-lister movies set to hit the big screen later this year.
From Chris Hemsworth, Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy to name a few.

1. BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE
Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe's El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption before everything goes to hell.
Jeff Bridges, Chris Hemsworth, Jon Hamm, Dakota Johnson and Cynthia Erivo lead an all-star cast.

2. FIRST MAN
The riveting story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong and the years 1961-1969. A visceral, first-person account, based on the book by James R. Hansen, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost — on Armstrong and on the nation — of one of the most dangerous missions in history.
The film stars Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy.

3. SERENITY
Academy-award winners Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway reunite in this thriller by Steven Knight.
Baker Dill (McConaughey) is a fishing boat captain leading tours off a tranquil, tropical enclave called Plymouth Island. His quiet life is shattered, however, when his ex-wife Karen (Hathaway) tracks him down with a desperate plea for help.
She begs Dill to save her – and their young son – from her new, violent husband (Jason Clarke) by taking him out to sea on a fishing excursion, only to throw him to the sharks and leave him for dead. Karen’s appearance thrusts Dill back into a life he’d tried to forget, and as he struggles between right and wrong, his world is plunged into a new reality that may not be all that it seems.

4. THE LITTLE STRANGER
The film tells the story of Dr Faraday, the son of a housemaid, who has built a life of quiet respectability as a country doctor. During the long hot summer of 1948, he is called to a patient at Hundreds Hall, where his mother once worked. The Hall has been home to the Ayres family for more than two centuries. But it is now in decline and its inhabitants - mother, son and daughter - are haunted by something more ominous than a dying way of life.
The film stars academy-award nominee Charlotte Rampling, Domhnall Gleeson, Ruth Wilson and Will Poulter.

5. SIBERIA
An American diamond merchant travels to Russia to sell rare blue diamonds of questionable origin. As the deal begins to collapse, he falls into an obsessive relationship with a Russian cafe owner in a small Siberian town. As their passion builds, so does the treacherous world of the diamond trade from which he is unable to extricate himself. Both collide as the American man desperately looks for escape in a world with no exit.
The film stars Keanu Reeves, Molly Ringwald and South African actor James Gracie (Alexander).
