Cape Town - Over the years Drew Barrymore has played various characters in numerous films, her acting abilities were highlighted time and time again as she portrayed each role with great execution.

Her latest movie to hit the big screen, Blended, will be out in South Africa this Friday!

Here are 5 of Drew's performances that made us stand up and applaud.

The Wedding Singer

Barrymore played Adam Sandler's love interest. Sandler played Robbie Hart, a wedding singer who falls in love with Julia, played by Drew, after his fiance leaves him.

Dylan Sanders, a quirky butt kicking crime fighter who is part of a private investigating trio, was played to perfection by Drew Barrymore alongside Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz.

50 First Dates

Adam and Drew teamed up for their second romance comedy. Drew played Lucy Whitmore who suffers from amnesia. Adam Sandler plays a womanising veterinarian who falls in love with Lucy after seeing her in a coffee shop.

Drew played reporter Josie Geller, a copy editor who has never been in a real relationship. All that changes when while working undercover at a high school she falls for a professor who gives her her first kiss ever!
