Cape Town – To celebrate Pride Month we round up some of the upcoming LGBTQI themed films. 

Here are 6 movies to save the dates for:

Below Her Mouth (11 Aug)

Jasmine a fashion editor who plans to marry her long-time boyfriend meets a woman on a night out which she can't get out of her head. Jasmine finally gives in to Dallas and embarks on a steamy affair.

Atomic Blonde (25 Aug)

Charlize Theron stars as an ass kicking spy who is tasked to take down an espionage ring. While out on her mission she strikes up a sexy love affair with a French spy played by Sofia Boutella.

Battle of the Sexes (6 Oct)

Emma Stone stars as tennis player Billie Jean King in this biopic of the famous 1973 tennis match between her and Bobby Riggs. The film also focuses on King's struggle with her sexuality.

Call Me By Your Name (March 2018)

In this coming of age drama 17-year old Elio (Timothée Chalamet) meets Oliver (Armie Hammer), a 24-year-old academic who has come to stay at his parents' villa. A passionate relationship develops between the two

Beach Rats (TBC)

Harris Dickinson is Frankie a teen from Brooklyn who escapes his bleak home life by causing trouble with his friends. At night he flirts online with older men which leads to him to exploring his sexuality.

God's Own Country (TBC)

The story centres on Johnny Saxby (Josh O'Connor), a young Yorkshire sheep farmer who gets help from a Romanian migrant worker Gheorghe Ionescu (Alec Secareanu) during lambing season. Gheorghe's arrival makes Johnny confront his feelings of love and being loved for the first time.
