'Spider-Man should be gay'

Los Angeles - Andrew Garfield, 29, wants his Amazing Spider-Man 2 alter ego to be gay.

Garfield, who is dating co-star Emma Stone, who plays Gwen Stacy in the film, would prefer it if Spider-Man's Peter Parker was into men rather than women.

He even suggested it to producer Matt Tolmach, that his on-screen love interest Mary Jane Watson could be a guy.

He told Entertainment Weekly: "I was kind of joking, but kind of not joking about MJ. And I was like, 'What if MJ is a dude?' Why can't we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality?

"It's hardly even groundbreaking! ... So why can't he be gay? Why can't he be into boys?"

Andrew has even placed The Wire actor Michael B Jordan at the top of his list of possible candidates to play MJ.

He added: "I've been obsessed with Michael B Jordan since The Wire. He's so charismatic and talented. It'd be even better - we'd have interracial bisexuality!"

Andrew's comments come after Shailene Woodley filmed scenes as MJ for the forthcoming film that was later completely cut from the movie.

the world is not ready for a spider man like that...

Plain answer Asif - a straight guy who has zero discrimination in his bones. You'd kiss a woman right? What makes it feel good. One can say the physical interaction. One can create the exact physical interaction in a kiss with a man. What about the mental interaction? In a movie, the mental interaction is pure acting. So one can display through acting that mental interaction as one would do with a woman.

@Rupes What makes it good? The smell of a woman, her bossom, the lack of facial hair, soft lips, the fact that she looks attractive? I can convince myself my dog is the same... but I'd likely need medication to reach that state.

Yah gays are always struggling for identity, to fit into some norm, they are always fighting for something ordinary

  • Nervern Presence - 2013-07-11 17:11

Hey why not make superman a peodophile and batman a beasty, lol. Damn its just not normal!

      LizK - 2013-07-12 07:46

Making a jump from homosexuality to paedophelia really just makes no logical sense.
