Cape Town - The first teaser poster for the long-awaited Nelson Mandela biographical film, Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, was unveiled in Cannes on Sunday.
The movie, a big screen adaptation of Mandela's autobiography Long Walk To Freedom, was released globally at the Cannes International Film Festival by producer, Anant Singh and Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company - which has acquired the film for distribution in the United States.
The teaser poster is the first of a series of images that will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom will be released in South Africa on 6 December 2013, and stars British actors Idris Elba and Naomie Harris as Nelson and Winnie Mandela.
The cast also includes SA actor Gys de Villiers as FW De Klerk, Fana Mokoena as Govan Mbeki, singer Nomfusi Gotyana as Miriam Makeba, SA comedian Riaad Moosa as Ahmed Kathrada, as well as Terry Pheto, Rob van Vuuren and Grant Swanby.
