It's official! Chris Pratt will star in Jurassic World sequel!

Los Angeles - Chris Pratt will star in a sequel to Jurassic World.

The 35-year-old actor, who features alongside Bryce Dallas Howard in the new sci-fi movie, has confirmed he will return for the next film in the money-spinning franchise.

Asked whether he's signed on for another movie, Chris said: "I am. They have me for I think 38 movies or something."

Chris also paid tribute to 'Jurassic World' director Colin Trevorrow, saying he "nailed it".

The Hollywood star, who's married to Scary Movie actress Anna Faris, told Entertainment Weekly: "He's the boss. He maintained control, was decisive. He created a lot of movement in the scenes.

"He directed. I say that because sometimes directors come in and yelling action and yelling cut is not directing. Directing is letting us know his vision.

"He directed all the animatics stuff too. So when he was directing this movie, he was essentially remaking this movie."

Meanwhile, it's been confirmed Jurassic World has already raked in a record $511.8m globally, meaning it is the first movie to ever break half a billion dollars over its opening weekend.

Of the overarching figure, as much as $100.8m has come from China alone.
