Mayans met aliens, says new doccie

Cape Town - A new film documentary will reveal that the ancient Mayans had contact with intelligent life forms not from Earth, says the Mexican government and will show that the ancient Mayan civilization was influenced by "an advanced race".

Luis Augusto Garcia Rosado, the minister of tourism for the Mexican state of Campeche told the trade publication The Wrap that new evidence has emerged of "contact between the Mayans and extraterrestrials, supported by translations of certain codices which the government has kept secure in underground vaults for some time".

The Mexican government will reveal these findings in a new film documentary entitled Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond, produced by Raul Julia-Levy, the son of actor Raul Julia and director Juan Carlos Rulfo. Julia-Levy told The Wrap that the documentary will focus on the evidence of alien contact with the ancient Mayan culture.

Landing pads

"Mexico will release codices, artifacts and significant documents with evidence of Mayan and extraterrestrial contact. Information will be corroborated by archaeologists," Julia-Levy told The Wrap who said that it seems the Mayan civilisation were disrupted by "men of dark intentions". The Mexican ministry indicated there is evidence of "landing pads in the jungle that are 3 000 years old" and is releasing 80-year-old state-held secrets to the documentary producers.

"In the site at Calakmul, workers for the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) have discovered rooms inside the pyramid that have never been seen or explored before. We're letting this documentary film there, to see what has been discovered inside the pyramid," Rosado said.

The film crew is also getting access to never-before-seen locations in Guatemala. Although the Guatemalan government isn't talking about anything regarding extra-terrestrial life, it is supporting Mexico in the documentary project.

"Guatemala, like Mexico, home to the ancient yet advanced Mayan civilization, has also kept certain provocative archeological discoveries classified and now believes that it is time to bring forth this information in the new documentary," Guillermo Novielli Quezada, Guatemala's minister of tourism said in a statement.

The film set for release in 2012 doesn't have a specific release date yet – but it will be before December 21 2012, the mystical end of the Mayan calendar.
