Johannesburg - A stuntwoman who was working on the next movie in the Resident Evil series is being treated for multiple injuries following a motorcycle accident during a stunt sequence near Johannesburg.
Olivia Jackson was injured in her face, head, shoulder and left hand and arm in the 5 September accident and is in stable condition, Constantin Film said in a statement on Friday.
Milla Jovovich took to her Instagram a day before the accident to mark the start of camera stunt rehearsals.
She captioned the selfie: "First day on set for on camera stunt rehearsals and we're having a blast!???? #residentevilmovie #johannesburgdiary (sic)."
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Olivia and her family during her recovery process," said the film production and distribution company, which is based in Munich, Germany.
Jackson had been performing for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, an action film starring Milla Jovovich. She also performed stunts for the movies Mad Max: Fury Road and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
"Most excited I've been about a film I've worked on ever. Beautiful memories, the best people," Jackson wrote on Facebook ahead of a May screening of the Mad Max movie.
This isn't the first time Oliva has landed in hospital for her job as her Instagram shows multiple injuries from previous stunts and activities.
