Russell Crowe meets Anglican leader after Noah premiere

London - The pope said no but the leader of the world's Anglicans was happy to meet Russell Crowe, star of watery Biblical epic Noah.

Crowe was denied a private audience with Pope Francis when he was promoting the movie in Rome last month.

But Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby met the actor at the cleric's Lambeth Palace home on Tuesday, the day after the movie's British premiere, to discuss faith and spirituality.

Director Darren Aronofsky's film is a box-office hit in the US but some Christian conservatives have complained it takes liberties with the Biblical account of the flood. It has been banned in much of the Muslim world because of its depiction of the prophet.

Welby's office said the archbishop had seen Noah and found it "interesting and thought-provoking".

Noah's Ark - should be classified in the fantasy fiction or science fiction genre as it is not factual and never really happened.

@ ThomasFreeman - If you are talking about the movie here then you are right. The Biblical version is true and did actually happen. Read some interesting reviews ... answersingenesis . org/articles/noah-movie/detailed-review creation . com/noah-movie

You and all relationship with Jesus Christians say the Biblical version is true. How do you know it is true? Especially when it has been debunked millions of times. For starters, the Biblical version is not the original story of the flood, it was plagiarised from the Sumerians. There is not enough water on earth to cover Mt Everest. Where did it come from? And where did it go? How come all fresh water life did not die out and vice versa for marine life? How did kangaroos and lemurs get on the Ark if they lived tens of thousands of miles of land and sea away? How did the entire human race descend form a genetic bottle neck of Noah and his family. If Gods intention was to stamp out evil why are humans still evil? etc. Keep your Sunday school horror stories in Church were you can scare children into humble and obedient submission to a non existent god and his erroneous so called divine/holy texts.
