The Office actor joins Jurassic World

Los Angeles - Andy Buckley has joined the cast of Jurassic World.

The Office actor joins Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, Irrfan Khan and Vincent D'Onofrio in the action-adventure, though details of his character are not yet known, reports Variety.com.

The movie - the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise - is being directed by Colin Trevorrow, who also wrote the script with Derek Connolly.

The filmmaker recently revealed the project will be set 22 years after the original 1993 movie.

He wrote on Twitter: ''This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park.''

Pratt will take on the film's lead role, playing a rugged ex-military man who develops a relationship with Howard's character.

Labor Day star Josh Brolin was initially linked to the role, but it's thought his discussions with movie studio Universal didn't go very far.

Young actors Ty Simpkins - best known for his role in Iron Man 3 - and Nick Robinson have also been cast in the blockbuster as the nephews of Howard's physicist character.

Steven Spielberg is executive producer alongside Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley as producers.

Jurassic World is scheduled for release in 3D on June 12 2015.
