Cape Town – Bill Murray will be reprising his role in Ghostbusters 2020.
The 69-year-old actor played the role of Peter Venkman in the original 1984 movie Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II and appeared as a ghost debunker in the 2016 film, Ghostbusters.
During an interview on The Greg Hill Show, co-star and co-creator Dan Ackroyd confirmed the news.
He shared that Bill, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts have all completed filming for the upcoming fantasy comedy.
Speaking about the script Dan shared: "Jason Reitman wrote a beautiful, heartfelt script that takes the real DNA from the first two movies and transfers that directly to the third, the next generation," reports Vulture.
The film directed by Jason Reitman will follow a family moving back home to a small town where they begin to learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.
New cast members include Mckenna Grace (The Haunting of Hill House), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Carrie Coon (The Leftovers), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Logan Kim and Celeste O'Connor.
Filming for the movie scheduled to be released in July 2020 wrapped in October.
In an Instagram post with the cast, Jason wrote: "Wrapped! 68 days and still smiling. #GB20"
