Chloë Grace Moretz to star in new Bonnie and Clyde movie

Cape Town - Chloë Grace Moretz is set to star alongside Jack O'Connell as the notorious criminals Bonnie and Clyde in the screen adaptation Love is a Gun.

The adaptation will based on Jeff Guinn's Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde and will be directed by Kike Maillo. 

According to The Hollywood Reporter the film is billed as the "thrilling, gritty and emotional story of two of history’s most famous lovers, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow."

In a statement the producers said: "Their story remains ubiquitous in popular culture across the globe, yet few in this generation know the details of their intimate love affair and the circumstances that led to their notorious crime spree that captured the imagination of the world in their time."

The infamous couple Bonnie and Clyde travelled the US with their gang, during the Great Depression, robbing people and killing people. 

Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway first played the couple in the 1967 movie Bonnie and Clyde which went on to win three Academy Awards.
