Johannesburg - Ryan Reynolds couldn’t be happier for Avengers: Inifinity War on its record-setting global opening.

The movie opened to a whopping $630-million (R7,8-billion) debut over the weekend. This makes Marvel’s newest flick its top global opening of all time.

But Marvel’s anti-hero, Deadpool, didn’t seeem to make the cut. The sequel in the Deadpool franchise has left fans with high expectations ahead of its May release. And Ryan aka Deadpool revealed on Sunday that his character was in fact rejected by the Avengers.

Taking to Twitter, Ryan posted his rejection letter sent by Tony Stark aka Iron Man. The 41-year-old actor showed fans he wasn’t allowed to join the band of heroes but is happy for the team on their record-breaking success.

“From a guy who never knows when to quit, I’m glad you guys never did. Congrats #Avengers,” Ryan posted.

According to Deadline, the short letter from Tony Stark concluded with, “Go bother Prof. X [from X-Men]. No. Sincerely, Tony Stark.”

In other news, Ryan is set to go back to rom-coms, where he’s had plenty of success. According to Refinery 29, Blake Lively’s hubby will team up with the producers of The Proposal for an upcoming movie. The film is still untitled and hasn’t released a log line yet, but the genre alone should be enough to get Ryan’s fans stoked about the project.

Whether he’s a superhero or clutsy romantic, Ryan’s got jokes for days!
