Disney finds its Jafar for Aladdin remake

Cape Town – Disney has found its Jafar for the live-action Aladdin remake. 

According The Hollywood Reporter Marwan Kenzari is in negotiations to play the villain.

Kenzari joins Mena Massoud who will play Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Will Smith who will play the wish granting Genie. (Read more here)

SNL alum Nasim Pedrad has been casted as a handmaid and friend of Princess Jasmine. 

More about Kenzari

According to IMDb he is a Dutch-Tunisian award winning actor.

He won a Golden Calf for Best Actor in 2013 for his role in the Dutch crime drama Wolf.

His credits include The Mummy, The Promise, Ben-Hur and Netflix’s action thriller What Happened to Monday.

Kenzari will also be seen later this year in Murder on the Orient Express in which he plays the conductor.
