Cape Town - Disney has put Black Panther forward in every possible category at the Academy Awards, including submitting the film in the Best Picture prize.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the studio has released its For Your Consideration list that reveals which categories the Marvel hit has been submitted for next year's awards.
The list includes the following categories: Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, Film Editing, Costume Design, Visual Effects, Original Score and Original Song.

This is the first time Marvel has entered a film into the Best Picture category. To date a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) title has not won an Oscar.
The movie has been a box office hit and has broken a number of records including: Pre-sale tickets, the most tweeted about movie, the $1bn mark at the global box office, the first film to cross R100m at the South African box office and one of the first films to be screened publicly in Saudi Arabia.
