Disney teases a whole new world with first look at Aladdin

Cape Town – Disney has released the first teaser for the upcoming live-action Aladdin movie – and it will transport you into a whole new world. 

Directed by Guy Ritchie, it stars Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Will Smith as the Genie.

In the clip we get sweeping shots of the desert, the city and the Cave of Wonders - very reminiscent of the start of the animation film. 

At the end we see Aladdin reaching out for the magic lamp.

If you're wondering where Smith is, he's still waiting to be let out. The actor shared a poster on Thursday with the caption: "Lemme out! Can't wait for ya'll to see me blue!"

The film releases in cinemas on 24 May 2019.
