Speaking about the role Skarsgard says it is such an extreme, inhumane character.
“It’s beyond even a sociopath, because he’s not even human. He’s not even a clown. I’m playing just one of the beings It creates," he told Entertainment Weekly.
He wants his take on the character to be original and fresh.
The two-part remake will reportedly focus on the group of friend as adults as they face the possibility of returning home to once again fight Pennywise as they did decades ago.
Other cast member includes Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, and Jeremy Ray Taylor.
The first film will be in theatres in the US on 8 September 2017.
