Hugh Jackman 'working on The Greatest Showman sequel'

Cape Town - Hugh Jackman is reportedly on board and working towards a sequel to his hit movie The Greatest Showman.

The 2017 musical is inspired by the story of P. T. Barnum's creation of the Barnum & Bailey Circus and the lives of its star attractions.

It grossed over $434m worldwide and is the fifth highest grossing musical of all time.

First time director Michael Gracey told The Sun that a sequel is officially in the works.

He told the publication: "When a movie becomes as big a success as this, it’s only natural there is demand for a sequel."

Jackman opened the Brit Awards last week with a performance of the title track, The Greatest Show.

The actor will be embarking on his first tour The Man. The Music. The Show. later this year.
