In 1964 Sammy Davis Jr was also handed the wrong envelope.

According to Time the entertainer presented the award for Best Music Score.

The nominees for the category were Irma La Douce, Bye Bye Birdie, A New Kind of Love, Sundays and Cybele and The Sword in the Stone.

The winner was Andre Previn for Irma La Douce but Davis announced it was John Addison for Tom Jones.

However, Tom Jones wasn’t nominated in the category.
