Cape Town - The great niece of James Bond creator Ian Fleming thinks Idris Elba (46) would make a fantastic replacement for Daniel Craig in the 007 films.

Speaking to Hello magazine, Hermione Fleming (29) said Idris would make a sexy Bond and also cited Richard Madden (32) and Cillian Murphy (42) as suitable candidates for the role, Metro UK reports.

“Idris Elba would make an awesome, sexy, bad-ass Bond,” she said.

“So would Richard Madden from Bodyguard and Cillian Murphy from Peaky Blinders.”

Daniel (51) will be starring in the upcoming 25th film in the franchise and it’s set to be his last, Daily Mail reports.

But Hermione, a fashion PR, isn’t keen on the idea of a woman taking on the iconic role, Daily Express reports.

“I’m not convinced a female Bond would work. My great-uncle created Bond as a man,” Hermione noted.

“Yet bringing into the mix a similar character to the ruthless assassin Villanelle in Killing Eve would be fun.”

Hermione also opened up about living with temporal lobe epilepsy, a condition that affects her ability to recall recent events.

“It’s sad that I’ll forget most of what’s happened to me. If I don’t see a friend or relative for six months I probably won’t recognise them,” she said.

“And when I look at photos from the past I don’t recall being there. It feels as if my image has been superimposed.

“One of the most heartbreaking things for me is that I won’t remember happy times with people I love. So when I’m with Mom and Dad, say, I take tons of pictures to capture those precious moments.”

“I appreciate every second. Every day I wake up determined to live life to the full.”

The next Bond film is set for release in 2020.
