Jean-Claude Van Damme still packs a punch in new Kickboxer trailer

Cape Town – Action star Jean-Claude Van Damme makes his return to the big screen in the reboot of his 1989 film, Kickboxer. 

In Kickboxer: Vengeance Van Damme will train an MMA fighter named Kurt Sloane (Alain Moussi).

The plot follows the original after his brother dies following a match with Muy Thai champion Tong Po (Dave Bautista) Kurt sets out to seek revenge.

He travels to Thailand to train with legendary Master Durand (Van Damme) the same man who trained his brother. 

By the looks of it this flick packs a strong punch of 90s martial arts nostalgia with a modern upgrade.

The film also stars Gina Carano and Luis Da Silva Jr.
