Los Angeles - Hollywood icon Johnny Depp is being eyed for a role in an upcoming biopic about the late cryptocurrency billionaire Matthew Mellon, according to a report.
Mellon was an American businessman who inherited trusts worth $25m from his family.
He invested $2m of it in the cryptocurrency XRP and turned it into a $1bn fortune.
Mellon had an opioid addcition which cost him $100 000 a month.
In April this year Mellon was found dead in a hotel room in Cancun hours before he was scheduled to check into rehab.
He died from a heart attack after taking ayahuasca, a hallucinogenic drink.
