Jurassic World sequel wraps filming

Cape Town – It's a wrap for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Director J.A. Bayona shared the news on Twitter thanking the cast and the crew for all their hard work.

Alongside a gif of Chris Pratt he wrote: "This is a wrap for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom! What a journey! Thank you to everyone that made it possible."

Producer Frank Marshall also tweeted a photo of a group of dinos on the last day of filming.

Writer and executive producer Colin Trevorrow congratulated the director.

Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and B. D. Wong will reprise their roles from the previous movie, along with newcomers Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin and James Cromwell.

Jeff Goldblum will reprise his original role as Dr. Ian Malcolm from the original film.

While the plot remains under wraps Producer Frank Marshall revealed earlier that it was a healthy challenge to work on the film. Trevorrow recently insisted the movie will not just be about characters running away from dinosaurs. (Read more here.)

The film is set to be released in 2018.
