Kristen Stewart ditches her shoes on Cannes red carpet

Cape Town – Kristen Stewart made a statement on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. 

The Twilight actress, who is a member of the jury, this year attended the premiere of Spike Lee’s BlackKkKlansman on Monday.

After posing for photos Kristen ditched her Christian Louboutin’s and walked the rest of the carpet barefoot.

In 2015 the festival came under fire for it’s no flats policy for women after festival-goers were turned away from the red carpet. 

This is not the first time Kristen challenged the ‘rule’ at the 2016 festival she wore blue sneakers to a premiere. (Read more here)

She has been very vocal about the fashion policy at the festival. 

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last year, she said: "If you're not asking guys to wear heels and a dress, you can't ask me either."
