Lara Croft filming in SA not confirmed

Cape Town – Filming of the new Lara Croft movie in South Africa has not been confirmed despite reports claiming it has.

According to Cape Film Commission CEO, Dennis Lillie, reports claiming that the filming of the reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise is due to start in Cape Town next February is not true.

The reboot, which stars Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander, was due to be filmed in Australia but was moved due to tax issues. A new location for the shoot has not been announced.

Lillie told Channel24 that the "probability of it happening in Cape Town is high" but that nothing has been confirmed.

"It is not confirmed. I actually know nothing about it. Please don't add fuel to the fire," Lillie told Channel24.
