Cape Town – Lily Collins will star alongside Zac Efron in the Ted Bundy thriller.
According to Deadline she will play his former girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer in the film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile directed by Joe Berlinger.
The film will be told from Elizabeth's perspective and will explore the crimes of the infamous killer.
Efron's casting was announced earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival.
Empire reports that shooting will begin in January 2018.
Collins is currently filming Tolkein in which she stars alongside Nicholas Hoult.
She plays Edith Bratt, Tolkien's great love affair great love and also the inspiration behind the elven princess characters in the Lord of the Rings.
