Margot Robbie wore Sharon Tate's earrings to get into character for her role in 'Once Upon A Time in Hollywood'

Cape Town – To get into character to play Sharon Tate, Margot Robbie wore a pair of the late actress's earrings.

The 28-year-old plays the slain actress in Quentin Tarantino's ninth film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

It features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood's golden age.

The film visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognise anymore.

Dalton is the neighbour of Sharon Tate (Robbie), one of the Manson murder victims.

In an interview with Empire Magazine Margot revealed that she wore a pair of earrings and a ring that belonged to Sharon, lent to her by her younger sister Debra.

"I guess it sounds like I'm being a bit spiritual or whatever, but it really did help me ground the character in something real. I wanted to honour her memory and bring the best parts of Sharon forward. And I found it really quite moving to have a piece of her with me," said Robbie.
