Nicole Kidman kicks off Amazon deal with intriguing adaption

Cape Town - Nicole Kidman has reportedly just signed on to produce an adaptation of the book The Female Persuasion.

It centres on college student Greer Kadetsky, who is groped at a fraternity party and subsequently becomes involved in the women's rights movement.

According to Variety the book is being adapted by This is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.

This film will be part of the "first-look deal" Kidman signed with Amazon earlier this year.

The Academy-award winner is also set to star alongside Charlize Theron in a new movie about former Fox News hosts Gretchen Carlson and Megyn Kelly, who spoke up about sexual harassment at the network before the #MeToo movement kicked off. (Read more here)

Kidman will also be seen in the DC movie Aquaman which releases on Friday, 21 December.
