Original 'Jurassic Park' cast reunite for the first time in 26 years

Cape Town - Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill are returning for Jurassic World 3.

The three actors appeared in the original film Jurassic Park, 26 years ago.

In the original film, Laura and Sam played palaeontologists, Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant. Jeff played mathematician Ian Malcolm.

Laura and Sam reprised their roles in Jurassic Park 3 while Jeff appeared in The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. This will be the first time the trio appear together again in the same film.

The news was announced on the official Instagram account of the film. Alongside a picture, the actors in character the caption reads: "They're back. Welcome to Jurassic World Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler & Ian Malcolm. #2021"

In a short video on Twitter, Laura said she is excited to be returning to the role.
