Penelope Cruz was frozen out of this Disney animation

Los Angeles - Penelope Cruz has revealed that she was turned down for a role in Frozen 2.

The Academy-award winning actress says she wants to star in animated films to please her two children, Leo (7) and Luna (5) who she shares with Javier Bardem. 

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight she revealed that hasn't done a lot of films that are for children but that she is hoping to get some animation work. 

"I tried to get into Frozen 2. That was the one I wanted."

The sequel of the Disney hit is set to be released next year and stars Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown.
