"Could be! Who knows? There's something due any day!"

Vanity Fair has released the first look images of Steven Spielberg's passion project, West Side Story.

The Academy-Award winner has teamed up with playwright and screenwriter Tony Kushner to reimagine the original 1961 movie.

The film stars Ansel Elgort as Tony, newcomer Rachel Zelger as Maria, Ariana DeBose as Anita, David Alvarez as Bernardo, and Rita Moreno as Valentina.

In an interview with the publication, Steven said, "West Side Story was actually the first piece of popular music our family ever allowed into the home. I absconded with it—this was the cast album from the 1957 Broadway musical—and just fell completely in love with it as a kid. West Side Story has been that one haunting temptation that I have finally given in to."
