PICS: Shia LaBeouf transforms into his own father for new movie

Cape Town – For his new role Shia LaBeouf will be playing his own father in the biopic, Honey Boy.

The character James Lort is loosely based on his dad Jeffrey.

Shia was pictured on set and he is barely recognisable in full costume.

He was wearing a receding hairline mullet wig with sideburns and glasses as he shot scenes for the upcoming film.

The script was written by Shia and chronicles the relationship between him and his father as he went between the Disney Channel set and his father’s 12-step programs reports Vulture

Here’s the official description of the movie: "A child actor and his law-breaking, alcohol-abusing father attempt to mend their contentious relationship over the course of a decade."

According to The Hollywood Reporter Jeffrey was a former clown performer and heroin addict. Honey Boy was the nickname Shia’s dad gave him.

Lucas Hedges (Lady Bird, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) will be playing a young version of Shia.
