Rami Malek was 'terrified' of playing Freddie Mercury

Cape Town - Rami Malek has confessed that he was in fact terrified when he took on the role portraying the late Queen frontman, iconic musician Freddie Mercury.

The Mr Robot actor said he was very anxious about playing the singer in the new biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody

The film focuses on Freddie's life and leading up to the Queen's Live Aid performance at Wembley Stadium in 1985.

Speaking about Freddie in a recent interview Rami said he was all about liberating himself, being free and doing exactly what he wanted.

The film opens in SA cinemas on Friday, 14 December.
