REPORTS: Warner Bros picks Robert Pattinson to play Batman

Cape Town - Warner Bros has reportedly closed a deal with Twilight actor Robert Pattinson to play Batman after screen testing him and fellow Brit Nicholas Hoult, according to Variety and Deadline. 

Reports of Robert being up for the role first emerged last month.

The studio reportedly wanted to see both actors on screen before commiting to one as the caped crusader known as The Dark Knight is a pivotal role in the lucrative film franchise that encompasses the Justice League. 

According to the trade publications pre-production on the comic book, the film is expected to start in the forthcoming months. 

Matt Reeves, the man behind the last two Planet of the Apes films, will produce the film along with Dylan Clark.
