Resident Evil: The Final Chapter wraps filming in Cape Town

Cape Town - Production on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter has finished.

Filming for the upcoming sixth installment of the film franchise, inspired by popular game series, wrappedon Wednesday, and the movie's main star Milla Jovovich, who plays Alice, celebrated by posting a selfie on Instagram.

She added the caption: "Last day shooting #residentevilthefinalchapter!! It's so exciting to finish and I really know you guys are gonna flip when you see it! Also, follow our camera operator @xxxlargexxx for more BTS photos of the movie!!! Loads of love! Xo m (sic)"

The movie has been shot in Cape Town, South Africa for nearly four months and it looks set to be a cracker if pictures of the set are anything to go by.

Earlier this week, Milla uploaded several photos from the film set in Belhar, a suburb of Cape Town.

The 39-year-old actress has teamed up with Iain Glen, who plays Dr. Alexander Isaacs, for the movie and last week admitted she couldn't quite believe the film had nearly wrapped.

Captioning a selfie of the pair, she wrote: "My favorite evil Doctor is back! It's been so amazing working with Mr. Iain Glen again! I can't believe we're going to be done with the film in a week! #IainGlen #residentevilthefinalchapter #capetowndiary (sic)"
