Ryan Gosling almost turned down playing Neil Armstrong

Cape Town - Ryan Gosling has shared how he actually considered turning down the role of Neil Armstrong in his latest film First Man as he says he didn't feel like he wanted to do a biopic.

Gosling reunites with Oscar-winning La La Land director Damien Chazelle for this account of NASA's 1960s moon mission, focusing initially on Neil Armstrong's teenage years.

Claire Foy (The Crown) plays Armstrong's first wife Janet. The film releases in South African cinemas on Friday, 26 October.
