Universal is carrying full steam ahead with the revival of their monster universe.

Following The Invisible Man, the studio is developing Wolfman as the next project in their catalogue of iconic creatures, reports Variety.

The publication further reports that Ryan Gosling will star in the movie and that a director is still being scouted.

The remake was written by Orange Is the New Black writers Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, reports Deadline.

The 2010 film was a remake of the 1941 movie starring Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving.

The film follows Lawrence Talbot, an American actor who is cursed after a werewolf bites him.
