Steven Spielberg will not direct the new Indiana Jones movie

According to Variety, Steven Spielberg will reportedly not direct the upcoming Indiana Jones 5 movie.

The publication reports that Ford v Ferrari director James Mangold is in talks to take over the reins.

This will be the first movie in the franchise that will not be directed by the Academy-Award winner. He will, however, remain a hands-on producer on the project.

Harrison Ford is still onboard to reprise his role as archaeologist Dr Henry Walton "Indiana" Jones Jr.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said he is excited to play the character again and revealed that filming is set to begin soon.

The film was originally scheduled to be released in 2019 but was delayed for a year and moved to July 2021.
