The 8th Saw movie to start filming in September

Los Angeles - Saw 8 will start filming in Toronto in September.

The last instalment of the horror franchise, known as Saw: The Final Chapter or Saw 3D, was released back in 2010 but now the gore is going to continue with another terrifying chapter in the saga.

The forthcoming film, called Saw: Legacy will be produced by Dan Heffner and Oren Koules who have overseen the rest of the series.

There is no cast or director confirmed yet but series creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell could be back and involved.

The films are all based around the Jigsaw Killer John Kramer who rather than murdering his victims outright, traps them in situations that he calls "tests" or "games" to test their will to live through physical or psychological torture.

He would torment his victims by showing them videos with the instructions for his sadistic games read out by Billy the Puppet.

As the film is reportedly due to shoot in autumn there has been speculation that the long awaited film could be released as soon an October 2017.

Since Wan's original movie, the franchise has become something of a cash cow spawning and array of merchandising, spin-off games and comics and its own ride at Thorpe Park theme park in the UK.
