The lion roars in SA cinemas this weekend

Cape Town – Simba and his friends are back in cinemas this weekend in an all-new live-action remake of the Disney classic, The Lion King.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film journeys to the African savanna where a future king must overcome betrayal and tragedy to assume his rightful place on Pride Rock.

Also showing: The powerful true-story of Bryon Widner one of the FBI's most sought after white supremacists.

Movie: The Lion King

Our rating: 3/5

Short review: It may look flawless, but Disney's reimagined The Lion King is clearly a money machine that does no justice to the original classic.

Movie: Skin

Our rating: 4/5

Short review: A riveting, powerful true story about a skinhead fighting for his own redemption, Skin may be a bit too familiar to go down as a true classic but that doesn't mean that it's not easily well worth your time.
