The producer and director of Shazam! tell us about visiting Hoedspruit, Kruger National Park and finding a superhero

SPECIAL FEATURE: SHAZAM!

Channel24's Alex Isaacs flew to London to speak to the cast and crew of DC's latest film, Shazam! The action-packed flick which stars Zachary Levi as the title character, whose life is forever changed when he meets a mysterious wizard.

Cape Town - In our sit-down chat with the film's director David Sandberg and its producer Peter Safran – the first of three interviews from London – we heard about how they have both been to South Africa.

David – who also directed 2017's Annabelle: Creation – told us how he visited Hoedspruit in Limpopo saying: "I've never shot in South Africa, I've just visited because I have friends there, in Hoedspruit."

The Swedish filmmaker also added: "Kruger Park is amazing."

Producer Peter Safran elaborated on his experiences of South Africa saying: "I shot a film with Paul Walker there a number of years ago." The film he mentioned is called Vehicle 19. About casting the film David said: "It was quite a process, we auditioned over a hundred people before we found Zach."
